4th of July

There will be big doings of the old fashiond kind here this 4th of July. A chicken bar-b-que and craft show on The Boothbay Common and spectacular fireworks over Boothbay Harbor. Walk around the Harbor with an ice cream cone in hand, check out the Arts and Craft Guild on the library lawn, or just sit on a bench and people watch. Hope you can be here because this kind of experience in a small New England town is something everyone should experience.

NO, YOU AREN'T IN A NORMAN ROCKWELL PAINTING, BUT YOU'LL THINK YOU ARE

when you attend the Hallowell Band concert that is preformed on the lawn of the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library every Thursday evening at 7:30 June through early Sept. Bring your own chair or blanket or sit on the stone wall and enjoy the music, from Sousa marches to Broadway show tunes. During the marches the kids line up for their chance to conduct the band. (The secret is in caramelizing the onions)

1 pie shell, pre-baked at 350 degrees for 12 min. to a golden brown
8 slices of bacon
2 onions, diced
4 eggs, beaten
1 cup half & half
1 Tbl. flour

Mix the eggs, half & half, flour and nutmeg in a bowl.
Layer bacon and onion on bottom of pie shell. Sprinkle the grated cheese over bacon and onions. Pour egg mixture over ingredients.
